    Men's Fashion Summer 2006
Men's fashion has always been a tricky one, it's much harder than for women. For starters, men have so much less to choose from both style wise and shop wise. Not to mention the fact that the minute a guy starts to take an interest in fashion or his appearance and steps outside of the line of what is deemed 'normal' he's tagged with being a metro sexual.

Girls can run around in the latest styles of legwarmers and fishnets with trainers looking as nutty as a fruitcake, but the minute a bloke tries teaming a Pringles top with a t shirt he'll start getting raised eyebrows from his mates.

Thankfully, this season there are so many wearable trends for men that even the most macho of boys can venture out of their usual style without getting the proverbial taken out of them.

Fashion for men has taken on a decidedly global flavour with our favourite designers hailing from Canada, Brazil and Portugal. From the Brazilian born, Paris based designer, Gustavo Lins, we've seen custom made tailoring at off the peg prices. Fitted jackets are making a huge comeback this season, not in the overly tight body hugging way (don't worry lads), but the fashion shows in Paris and London saw Lins' latest designs dominating the runways. High street shops will have their own (more wearable) versions in, so even the man on a budget can keep in style.

If tailored jackets aren't your thing there are plenty of our old favourite items of clothing, updated ever so slightly, for the more conservative dresser. So you can still wear your t shirts and jeans on a night out. Just this time your t-shirt might be embroidered with sterling silver thread ala Canadian designer Raif Adelberg, one of Brad Pitts favourite designers. And if it's good enough for Brad...

A reflection of the change in men's attitudes when it comes to fashion is the interest in 'Flight', the new Portuguese label. Sales are on the rise which proves that, while men might not be flush enough to make the leap to bespoke clothing, they are definitely feeling dressier. Their clothes are just starting to appear in high-end stores from London to L.A., and they're well worth seeking out. Again, high street stores will be copying the styles if your budget doesn't stretch to the real thing, just watch them try to match 'Flight's' cut and cloth.
